If you find yourself asking that "Why Is My Computer Too Slow ?", then you have come to the right place. A slow computer can be a very frustrating thing to deal with. We all want to run a fast computer for fast works. There are many things that can cause a slow computer such as a virus, spyware, or hard drive fragmentation. Registry problems are one of the most common reasons for a slow PC. Registry problems are accumulated as a result of installing and uninstalling programs which ultimately have a negative effect on the operation of Windows.
Registry Problems
Your registry can build up unnecessary entries over time from the adding/removing of programs, hardware, and files. These unnecessary entries can cause your computer to become slower and slower over time.
Virus or Spyware
Another one of the most common reasons for a slow computer is a virus or spyware. These unwanted files or programs can really hurt the performance of your PC. A major virus is usually pretty noticable. However, it is recommended that you run a Virus and Spyware scan every week or so to make sure that you don't have any spyware or viruses slowing down your computer.Low Memory
If your computer doesn't have enough memory to run the latest programs, then your computer won't be able to keep up with the increasing demands of today's programs. You may need to add memory to bring your computer back up to speed if your computer is running really slow. Generally speaking, a memory upgrade is the best bang for the buck when it comes to upgrading an existing computer. If you haven't upgraded your memory at all, you may be able to significantly improve PC performance for under $100.Hard Drive Fragmentation
Hard Drive Fragmentation causes your hard drive to run slower and fragmentation will build over time. This is any easy problem to fix with the built-in Windows defrag tool. It is recommended that you defragment your hard drive every few weeks to keep it running as efficiently as possible. If you haven't defragged in awhile, I would recommend running the Defragmentation process multiple times to get your hard drive running as efficient as possible. Not Enough Free Disk Space
A completely full hard drive has trouble running efficiently. It is best to keep some free space available for the Operating system to use. By deleting old videos, music, and programs, you can free up disk space. If you have a really small hard drive, consider a hard drive upgrade or possibly even the addition of a 2nd hard drive. This way you can move all of your video, music, etc to the second hard drive allowing your operating system and programs to have more space on the primary hard drive.Too Many Programs Starting Up
It is possible that you just have too many programs or services starting up when you startup Windows. Do you have any old or unused programs that you can get rid of? If so, this could help you to speed up your slow computer. Removing old, unused programs will also help free up disk space as well.Outdated Drivers
Old or ancient drivers may cause a range of problems, including system crashes and slowness. Also, if you get a warning about a driver being out of date, it is a good idea to go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers from them.Dirty or Dusty Computer Case
The inside of a computer tower can get dirty and dusty over time. This dust will cause the fans to move slower which will cause more heat to be produced. This excess heat can cause your PC to slow down or even overheat. If you haven't cleaned the inside of your computer case out in awhile, this could be worth doing.Windows Is Not Up To Date
We all know that windows has a feature that we can update it even can create a shedule to update it by it self though the internet. If the windows is not up to date then our windows system will be out of date, system files, system problems, security and others. So windows has to be update every week.
Working With Too Many Programs
If you work with many programs at the same time your computer might get slow. This doesn't happen most of the times but yes if you programs takes huge process then that problem will occur. Even i guess you have experienced that simply if you open 10 or 20 tabs in your browser you will experience that your computer process is too high because of the browser and your computer will be slow.
