Google UK today revealed that mobile internet use was surging thanks to the Apple iPhone.
The head of Google UK, Matt Brittin, said iPhone owners search online 30 times more than those who use rival smartphones.

Brittin raised the statistic to highlight online opportunities despite the recession in the market.
The iPhone was a groundbreaking step in fuelling mobile internet growth because its handset was so user-friendly, he said.

"We are seeing up to 30 times more searches from iPhones than from [owners] of other high-end devices like Blackberrys," said Brittin, giving his first public speech since he was appointed head of the UK operation.
